We are happy when we demonstrate*, we are happy when we show works to the public!

This hanging foreshadowing recent works from the Frac des Pays de la Loire collection allows the new Frac space in Nantes to be launched. How better to experience a place of contemporary art than by presenting paintings, sculptures, photographs… This hanging makes it possible to promote some works acquired in recent years and to prepare, by taking its marks, the opening exhibition of the Frac site in Nantes which will take place on July 2, 2021 with the exhibition of Rinus Van de Velde, La Ruta Natural.

From this mischievous title emerges an invitation to gentle revolt, like this hanging to be discovered through the prism of the sensitive and the political. It is as much in everyday life as in a collective past, fictitious or real, that the artists drew their inspiration here. Social injustice, ecology, language, the relationship to technologies and to history are all themes that emerge. Sometimes enveloped in an apparent lightness, sometimes revealed by the absurd or asserting itself in their crudest reality: the works vary like the reflections of singular identities, shaped by plural imaginaries.

* eponymous title of Endre Tót’s work
