The Frac des Pays de la Loire undertakes fundamental exploratory work in order to build up a collection that is truly representative of contemporary creation.
While remaining particularly mindful of the emergence of new generations of artists and fulfilling its commitment to supporting young artists by often being the first institution to acquire their works, the technical committee responsible for extending the collection is also equally attentive to developments in practices by more established artists, particularly those already featured in the collection.
In 2020, 28 new acquisitions of contemporary art were made, mixing various practices and perspectives on the world.
