Sur tes lèvres

The Frac des Pays de la Loire and Le Lieu Unique present Sur tes Lèvres, (On your Lips) an exhibition around the theme of the kiss.

A powerful vector of emotions and alliances across centuries and cultures, the kiss changes its meaning according to the times and contexts. Through the lens of the kiss, a plural vision of the body, desire, ritual, courtship, and even care is invoked. But what about younger generations? In a post-Covid world, can we still kiss? What is the relevance and continuity of this gesture, whose representation seems as old as art itself?

Taking the collection of the Fonds régional d’art contemporain (Frac) des Pays de la Loire as its starting point, enhanced by loans and original productions, this exhibition offers the public a free-flowing exploration through a range of videos, photographs, sculptures, and installations.
